We've been busy here at the studio getting it dialed in to exactly what I want to see. In the past, I've worked with flashes, video lights, window light or just rolling the big garage door open at the back of the studio when the weather allows. Each of these lighting scenarios has its perks and drawbacks. The windows are probably my favorite but but the weather, that's just not a reliable option out in the studio. The video light is awesome as well, but just doesn't offer that big dramatic light, I like to add sometimes. So, to get where I wanted, we invested in a new strobe for the studio. If you're not familiar with strobes, they're like really powerful and versatile flashes that plug into the wall(major bonus points for no batteries getting swapped all the time). To test out the new light, our pit boxer mix, Ripley, came out to the studio for a few minutes to get it dialed in and my good friend Francis of Proverbial Grounds came in last week to help me get comfortable with the new light. We haven't named it yet, so if you've got ideas, I'm all ears. :)
Here's what we did!
