Lauren and Josh are a kind-hearted and fun loving couple I met back when I first photographed the Fletcher Place Culinary Collage where Lauren was volunteering painting faces - that alone should tell you how giving and wonderful they are.
Their wonderful DJ, Keith Maddox, put together their love story and shared it just before their first dance to 'From the Ground Up' by Dan + Shay and I'd love to share that with you now. <3 So here is Lauren and Josh's love story:
They met online when Josh sent Lauren a wink and a picture of him holding his giant cat, and the rest is history! Their first date was supposing to be dinner and viewing the galleries for First Friday in Fountain Square, but the two couldn’t stop talking and the galleries were closed by the time they left the restaurant! For their second date, Josh took Lauren to Target so she could give him a full tour to explain all of its magical powers! And their first kiss rang in the New Year at midnight on New Year's Eve. Josh, and the cat that woo’d her, moved in with Lauren a little after a year of dating.
After over two years of dating, Lauren & Josh went ring shopping together the week of Valentine's Day. Josh actually bought the ring right then and there, BUT it sat in his dresser drawer for months and drove Lauren crazy! Josh put together two different proposal scenarios, but both got derailed by his work schedule. The third time was the charm! On a casual afternoon Lauren mentioned needing to make a run to Target and grab dinner while they were out. Instead, Josh surprised her and drove downtown to Cerulean, a wonderful restaurant that Lauren had been wanting to try for years. He started asking her if she had already started planning for their wedding and asked about the venue she wanted. As Lauren was going on about The Barn at Kennedy Farm and showing him pictures, he pulled the ring out on his pinky… and then was so nervous, he completely forgot everything he had prepared to say! Lauren filled in the blanks and said “yes!”
I am absolutely honored to have been part of their big day and the start of their new chapter as husband and wife. The first few pages were certainly amazing and the fairytale Lauren always dreamed of. Without further ado, here are some favorites from Lauren and Josh's stunning wedding out at The Barn at Kennedy Farm.
