I have had the pleasure of knowing Jennifer for over ten years now, since we studied fine art together at Herron. She is an incredibly talented, tree hugging, all-around-awesome human that makes some amazing ceramic art. Many of you are likely already familiar with her work, but if you’re not, you are in for a treat. All of Jennifer’s work is handcrafted from porcelain clay out of her studio in Garfield Park(except for what she made out in the field here - but more on that soon) and is inspired by nature, the outdoors, and all of the amazing things she encounters on her numerous outdoor adventures. Since she takes so much inspiration from nature, it only seemed fitting to bring her and her wheel out into nature for her branding session. When we started talking about what we should do for her branding session, Jennifer knew that she wanted to include yoga in some way and she really pulled out all the stops and did a crow pose right over her wheel while it was spinning a massive bowl she threw. I had so much fun watching Jennifer create some amazing work outside and the cathartic experience it must have been to smoosh them all once she was done(even though I kinda wanted that bowl - haha!).
