Malcolm had a man-bun and got it cut off | Indianapolis portrait photographer
You may or may not know that I couldn't bring myself to cut my son's crazy curly hair... until now. I just love his crazy mop and it seemed fine since it was curly and kept all of it (mostly) out of his face. We had talked a few times about the possibility of his hair being long enough to put it up in a man-bun. As it turns out, it WAS long enough for a true man-bun, looped over and everything. If he wants to be a hipster kid, that's fine with me but the poor guy was pushing hair out of his face every few minutes so we scheduled his haircut over at Shear Experience and his portraits for his most hipster session ever. We got out a little bandana scarf, flannel and everything. I had so much fun and laughed through his whole session. Let's start with that and I'll be back to talk about his first salon experience.
Yesterday we headed up to my lovely aunts' hair shop, Shear Experience, for Malcolm's very first haircut. We hooked Malcolm up with a cup of goldfish and he was happy to sit in the great big chair and get his mop fixed into an actual hair-do. I just love his curls so Jeanine took off a little at a time to make sure he was going to keep the curl and as much length as possible without it getting into his eyes anymore. Malcolm was such a good sport, she even got to layer it a little! In true photographer style, I brought along my camera to document the big event and took a couple photos this morning of mister Malcolm and his big boy haircut. Thanks Jeanine!
